چکیده

Meson decay constants in the B system are used to translate measurements of BB̄ mixing to CKMmatrix elements. Currently, it is not possible to determine fB accurately from leptonic B decays, so theoretical calculations of fB are used. Since the B s meson does not have l ν decays, it will never be possible to determine fBs experimentally, thus theory must be relied on. If calculations disagree on D mesons, they may be questionable on B mesons. If, on the other hand new physics is present, we need understand how it effects SM based predictions of the B decay constants. Decay constants can be calculated using lattice quantum-chromodynamics (LQCD). Recent calculation from Follana et al. using an unquenched LQCD predicts fD+ = (207± 4) MeV and fD+ s = (241± 3) MeV [2]. We use the reactions ee → DD, and ee → D∗− s D + s or D − s D ∗+ s . The D + is studied at 3770 MeV using 818 pb of data [3]. And the D s is studied at 4170 MeV, using 424 pb −1 for μν and τν, τ → πν̄, and 300 pb for τν, τ → eνν̄. (Eventually CLEO will present results using 600 pb.)

Pseudoscalar decay constants of kaon and D - mesons from N f = 2 twisted mass Lattice QCD

We present the results of a lattice QCD calculation of the pseudoscalar meson decay constants fπ, fK , fD and fDs , performed with Nf = 2 dynamical fermions. The simulation is carried out with the tree-level improved Symanzik gauge action and with the twisted mass fermionic action at maximal twist. We have considered for the final analysis three values of the lattice spacing, a ≃ 0.10 fm, 0.09 ...

Determination of Charm Hadronic Branching Ratios and New Modes

Precise measurements of the absolute branching fractions for D and Ds meson decays are important as they serve to normalize most B and Bs decays as well as many charm decays. Recent measurements from CLEO-c, BABAR, and Belle for the measurements of the absolute hadronic branching fractions of D and Ds mesons are presented here. Results from the CLEO-c experiment at the Cornell Electron Positron...

The Purely Leptonic Decays D + → μ + ν and D + s → l + ν at CLEO

Thus, in the SM measurement of purely leptonic decays allow a determination the decay constant, fD+ of the D + meson and similarly fDs of the D + s meson. 00 4 FIRST RESULTS FROM CLEO - c at E CM = Ψ ( 3770 )

The CLEO-c detector at CESR has begun to collect large data sets of e + e − → c¯ c events in the center-of-mass energy range √ s = 3 − 5 GeV that will greatly enhance the size of the world's data sets of events produced at charm threshold. Preliminary results for the pseudoscalar decay constant f D + and absolute D-meson hadronic branching fractions from an initial integrated luminosity L = 57 ...

Cleo Results : B Decays

Measurements of many Standard Model constants are clouded by uncertainties in nonperturbative QCD parameters that relate measurable quantities to the underlying parton-level processes. Generally these QCD parameters have been obtained from model calculations with large uncertainties that are difficult to quantify. The CLEO Collaboration has taken a major step towards reducing these uncertaintie...
